English Dub Released for Latest Yakuza Spin-Off

The legendary yakuza returns with a gripping new adventure

Sega and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have surprised fans by releasing a free English voice dub for their latest video game, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. The dubbed version is now available via a downloadable patch on Xbox and PlayStation consoles as well as PC.

Like a Dragon Gaiden is a spin-off entry in Sega’s popular Yakuza game franchise. It follows former yakuza boss Kazuma Kiryu, who faked his death to protect his family but is pulled back into conflict by a mysterious figure trying to reveal his secret identity.

Assuming the codename “Joryu,” players control Kiryu through bone-crunching brawls and shootouts across vibrant locales in Sotenbori and Yokohama.

Alongside the action-packed main story are thrilling side missions featuring quirky characters that draw players deeper into the game’s expansive world. These all build towards an epic confrontation that will test the legendary resolve of the “Dragon of Dojima” himself.

Releasing the English dub as a free update shows Sega responding to Western fans who prefer English voice acting. It also generates excitement for the upcoming mainline Yakuza entry, Yakuza: Like a Dragon – Infinite Wealth, due out next month.

For long-time fans of Kazuma Kiryu looking to revisit his compelling saga, Like a Dragon Gaiden offers a meaty new chapter – now in full English.
