The team behind the acclaimed time-bending shooter, SUPERHOT, has ventured into a new realm of gaming with their latest creation, Toy Trains. Set to release on PSVR2 in January 2024, this game marks a distinct departure from the studio’s previous high-intensity offerings, inviting players into a calm, creative world of train track construction.

Toy Trains offers a serene gaming experience, focusing on the joy of building and connecting train tracks in a virtual environment. The game is designed to be an all-ages, low-pressure experience, devoid of the typical constraints and pressures often found in puzzle and strategy games. Players are given the freedom to creatively and strategically design their train tracks, connecting a community of little plastic people in a virtual world.

Marcin Jóźwik, a designer and programmer on Toy Trains, emphasized this design philosophy in a statement on the PS Blog, saying, “We didn’t want the game to force the player to do anything. Every challenge you face is open-ended and has various possible solutions. You always get to be creative and strategic about the map’s final outcome instead of simply solving a puzzle.”

A Tactile and Engaging Experience

Toy Trains

“Embark on a Nostalgic VR Journey with Toy Trains”: Ready to relive the magic of childhood through a virtual lens? Experience the charm of Toy Trains in VR, where creativity and nostalgia blend seamlessly in this delightful train set builder.

The game’s mechanics involve selecting track pieces, vehicles, and various props from a catalogue and placing them in the virtual world. This process is designed to be tactile and engaging, providing a satisfying sense of building and customization. The straightforward yet creative gameplay makes Toy Trains an accessible and enjoyable experience for players of all ages.

Toy Trains represents a refreshing shift in focus for the creators of SUPERHOT, offering a tranquil and imaginative outlet in the realm of virtual reality gaming. Its release on PSVR2 is eagerly awaited by enthusiasts who are keen to dive into this unique, stress-free building adventure.
