Stunlock Studios’ popular survival action RPG, V Rising, is gearing up for its highly anticipated 1.0 launch on May 8th, and it’s bringing a special treat for fans of the iconic Castlevania series. Alongside the comprehensive update, V Rising will receive a free Castlevania crossover event, allowing players to engage in a boss battle against the legendary vampire hunter, Simon Belmont.
Titled “V Rising: Legacy of Castlevania,” this free content update will challenge players to defeat Belmont and claim his iconic whip as a new weapon. According to the announcement, vanquishing the famous Belmont will grant players “a brand new weapon, the whip, adapting new combat abilities that embody the grace and precision of the deadly Vampire hunter.”
While the Castlevania crossover event and the opportunity to wield Belmont’s whip will be available to all V Rising players for free, Stunlock Studios is also offering a separate paid cosmetic DLC pack, aptly named the “Legacy of Castlevania Premium Pack.” This premium offering will allow players to deck out their in-game castles and characters with Castlevania-inspired items and aesthetics.
The Premium Pack includes a skeletal mount, enabling players to traverse the world atop a macabre steed, and the ability to have classic Castlevania music reimagined by V Rising composer Aleksandria Migova playing throughout their castle halls. Additionally, the pack will provide players with unique character customization options, allowing them to embody the gothic horror aesthetic of the Castlevania series.

This crossover event marks another notable appearance of the Castlevania franchise in the gaming world, following last year’s successful “Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania” expansion. The collaboration not only pays homage to the iconic series but also promises to offer V Rising players a fresh and thrilling challenge as they face off against one of gaming’s most renowned vampire hunters.
