In a move that has sent shockwaves through the fighting game community, Capcom has unveiled an electrifying roster of characters set to join Street Fighter 6 during its second year of content. Among the highly anticipated additions are iconic characters from the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters franchises, marking a historic crossover that bridges multiple fighting game universes.

During the Summer Games Fest 2024 presentation, Capcom revealed that the nefarious M. Bison, the long-standing antagonist of the Street Fighter series, will be the first newcomer to grace the game’s roster this summer. However, the true highlights of the announcement were the inclusions of Terry Bogard from Fatal Fury and Mai Shiranui from The King of Fighters, two characters that have long been fan favorites in their respective fighting game franchises.

Terry Bogard, the legendary hungry wolf and the face of Fatal Fury, is set to join the fray in Fall 2024, bringing his signature moves and fighting spirit to the Street Fighter 6 arena. Fans of the Fatal Fury series will undoubtedly rejoice at the opportunity to witness Terry’s iconic attacks and combos seamlessly integrated into the game’s mechanics.

Not to be outdone, Mai Shiranui, the fan-favorite kunoichi from The King of Fighters, will make her grand entrance in Spring 2025. Known for her deadly grace and eye-catching combat attire, Mai’s inclusion promises to add a unique flair to the Street Fighter 6 experience, captivating both long-time fans and newcomers alike.

Rounding out the roster of newcomers is Elena, a series veteran who first appeared in Street Fighter III: New Generation. Her return to the spotlight in Winter 2025 will undoubtedly delight fans who have been clamoring for her inclusion in the latest installment of the beloved franchise.

Street Fighter 6, which was hailed as one of the best games of 2023, has already captivated players worldwide with its stunning visuals, fluid gameplay, and diverse roster of characters. With the addition of these iconic fighters from other beloved franchises, the game’s appeal is set to reach new heights, providing an unparalleled crossover experience for fighting game enthusiasts.

The decision to incorporate characters from Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters into Street Fighter 6’s roster is a testament to Capcom’s commitment to delivering an authentic and exciting fighting game experience. By bridging these iconic universes, the developers have not only honored the rich histories of these franchises but also opened up new possibilities for unique character interactions, epic battles, and unforgettable moments.

As the Year 2 content rollout approaches, anticipation continues to build within the fighting game community. Fans eagerly await the release dates for each character, speculating about potential movesets, costumes, and the impact these additions will have on the game’s metagame.

Street Fighter 6 is available on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox platforms, and PC, offering players a seamless cross-platform experience. For those who have yet to experience the thrill of this latest installment, now is the perfect time to dive in and prepare for the arrival of these legendary fighters from the Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters universes.
