We’ve been hearing a lot about this Alys Rivers chick on House of the Dragon. This latest episode finally showed us she’s a real person and not just in Daemon Targaryen’s head! Rumors were flying about who she really was. Some thought she was a witch, others said she was a powerful Greenseer.

Alys works as a healer at Harrenhal. She seems to know things about Daemon that don’t make sense. And she can make potions to do strange things. The actress who plays her, Gayle Rankin, said Alys has spent a long time alone figuring herself out. She mentioned something about Alys being 400 years old! While the show hasn’t said for sure, Alys’ abilities seem a lot like Melisandre the Red Witch or the Three-Eyed Raven from Game of Thrones.

But the most interesting part could be what happens with Alys later on. According to the books this show is based on, she’ll get together with this guy Aemond Targaryen! They’ll claim to be married and even have a kid together.

This is where things get crazy. If that kid was really Aemond and Alys’ son, he’d have a good claim to be king someday. He could challenge Aegon III, who becomes king in the books. The books don’t say what happened to Alys’ son either. His story could change everything for the Targaryens down the road.

It’s exciting to see what the show does with Alys’ character. How they handle her secrets and this storyline with Aemond will be huge. Alys is definitely an important person to pay attention to as more of House of the Dragon unfolds. I can’t wait to see what role she plays in the crazy politics and battles for power among the Targaryens!
