This summer is shaping up to be huge for movie lovers thanks to an epic new film hitting theaters – and it’s all about super fast cars! Director Joseph Kosinski, the guy behind the amazing “Top Gun” sequel, is working on a movie called “F1” that takes us right into the world of Formula 1 racing.
It’s got some major stars too. Brad Pitt plays an old pro racer who comes out of retirement to mentor a rookie, played by Damson Idris from the show “Snowfall.” They’ll be racing for a new team alongside legends like Lewis Hamilton for real! I was geeking out just thinking about it.
Idris talked about being on set with these huge celebs. “I look over and there’s Brad Pitt,” he said. “Then I turn the other way and see Javier Bardem. My hands were shaking the whole time!” Can you imagine? It must have been so cool but also really nerve-wracking.
What’s really neat is that they’re actually filming during real Formula 1 races. So you’ll see drivers like Hamilton and Max Verstappen playing themselves. No wonder Idris said wearing those tight race suits in the hot cars was exhausting. My hands would be sweating just watching!
They kept adding more big names too, like Simone Ashley from “Bridgerton.” Even though we don’t know her role yet, I’m sure she’ll be fantastic. With stars and action like this, how could the movie not be amazing?
It definitely seems like Kosinski is pulling out all the stops. Famous producer Jerry Bruckheimer and even Brad Pitt himself are involved. Best of all, seven-time champ Hamilton is helping to make sure everything looks totally real.
Idris said Pitt was shockingly good behind the wheel. “He’s too good, it makes me nervous!” Guess Brad takes his roles seriously. With Kosinski and Pitt committing to authenticity, “F1” is looking like a can’t-miss theatrical experience coming next summer. Mark your calendars – this film is sure to be a box office smash!
