The Simpsons is bringing some huge names to Springfield this fall! At San Diego Comic-Con last month, producers spilled the details on celebrity cameos and creative collaborations coming up in Season 36.
Kicking things off is Conan O’Brien in the episode “Bart’s Birthday.” Conan was actually a Simpsons writer way back when, so it’ll be fun to see him back where it all began. Danny DeVito is also stopping by the party – he first played Homer’s brother Herb years ago, so viewers will be curious to see what role he plays now.
Another big name making his Simpsons debut is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. I mean, John Cena! The former wrestling-turned-movie star seems like a natural fit for the show’s silly humor. And can you believe they got Tom Hanks too? The Oscar winner has never appeared on the show before now.
“Bart’s Birthday” should be extra special since it’ll also feature cameos from real MLB players too. Just like in the classic “Homer at Bat” episode from the early ’90s.
Animation fans will love seeing Jorge R. Gutierrez and Seth Green lend their creative flair. Gutierrez is known for colorful movies like The Book of Life, while Green and John Harvatine IV make stop-motion magic on Robot Chicken. It’ll be wild to see their styles mixed with The Simpsons’ distinctive look.
Even Vice President Kamala Harris made a surprise appearance – via an old clip of her quoting Kang and Kodos! The show’s cultural impact was on full display.
With these stars and more, The Simpsons’ 36th season is looking hilarious. New episodes start September 8th only on FOX.
