Industry insiders are abuzz with word that Emmy favorites Eugene and Dan Levy may soon make their highly-anticipated return to television’s biggest night. Multiple trusted sources reveal that the Levyan comedy duo, who famously conquered the small screen with “Schitt’s Creek,” are currently engaged in negotiations to serve as hosts for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony this coming September.
While representatives for ABC and the Television Academy refused to officially confirm the talks, those close to the process tell me discussions are ongoing. Of course, fans will be keeping their fingers crossed for an announcement given the Levys’ indelible mark on the Emmys stage before. Their beloved “Schitt’s Creek” dominated the comedy races in 2020, setting a single-year record with nine wins including for stars Eugene and Dan in the lead and supporting actor categories.
The potential hosting gig would continue the Levys’ streak of joining forces for major industry presentations, having co-hosted the 2020 SAG Awards. Eugene also memorably appeared on “Saturday Night Live” when son Dan took the reins as guest host.
