The cast of the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things” shared emotional reactions to filming the show’s final episode at a recent convention. Actor David Harbour, known for his role as Chief Jim Hopper, said he believes fans will be deeply moved by the season five conclusion.
Harbour attended New York Comic-Con to mark the 10-year anniversary of the “Happy Sad Confused” podcast. There, he talked about watching the cast read through the finale script for the first time. According to Harbour, around halfway through, some actors began crying in response to their characters’ fates. Towards the end, uncontrollable weeping spread among large parts of the group.
One star especially impacted was Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers. The emotional reactions showed how attached the cast has become to their roles over the past decade. Many original cast members, like Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, and Gaten Matarazzo began filming when they were just 11-13 years old. Now in their early 20s, the show spans much of their adolescence.
“It was their childhood,” Harbour said of the younger actors’ experience. “They started when they were so young. Now 10 years have passed as we film the ending. It’s executed beautifully and powerfully.”
Though plot details are secret, Harbour assured fans the conclusion will be highly satisfying. He praised it as the best episode the series has produced and one that will resonate deeply with viewers. Fans are eagerly anticipating the emotional resolution when Season 5 releases on Netflix in 2025. As the original “Stranger Things” saga wraps up, it will complete a journey adored by global audiences since the show launched in 2016.
