Chris Pratt shared his reaction to Patrick Schwarzenegger’s role in The White Lotus Season 3, revealing that he was caught off guard by a scene in the premiere episode. Pratt, who is married to Katherine Schwarzenegger, had no advance notice of what to expect when watching the HBO series.
“I did not know I was gonna be seeing him fully nude in that way,” Pratt said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “Hey, he looks good, you know what I mean? I was like, rock it, bro.”
He praised Schwarzenegger’s work in the series, saying, “He does a great job in White Lotus. I love White Lotus. I was a fan of White Lotus before, so when he got it, everyone was super pumped for him.”
Schwarzenegger plays Saxon Ratliff, the eldest son of characters played by Jason Isaacs and Parker Posey. His introduction in the series includes interactions with his on-screen siblings, portrayed by Sarah Catherine Hook and Sam Nivola.
Arnold Schwarzenegger attended the premiere and addressed the scene on Instagram, saying, “I could claim to be surprised to find out he has a nude scene, but what can I say – the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.”
Maria Shriver admitted she missed the moment. “My kids were like, ‘Did you see that?’ And I was like, ‘No. What?’” she told People. She spoke about her son’s dedication, saying, “He takes classes, he’s really been grinding at it for more than a decade, and he wanted to work his way up — and he’s done it his way.”
Schwarzenegger described the role as a major milestone. “I started crying immediately when I found out I was cast as Saxon Ratliff. It was the greatest day in history for me,” he said in an interview with People.
His family had an emotional reaction to the news. “I went and had lunch with my whole family the week later, and I told them, and my mom started bursting out crying. Then my sister started crying, and then I started crying, and then Abby [Champion] started. It was like a domino effect of mayhem and tears,” he said.
New episodes of The White Lotus Season 3 air Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on HBO and Max.
