Vince Vaughn visited the White House on Friday, appearing alongside President Donald Trump in a parody of the 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers. The image was shared through the official POTUS Instagram and X accounts under the title White House Crashers, echoing the style of the original film’s poster.
The post showed Vaughn and Trump in the Oval Office, with no information about the nature of the visit. Vaughn did not appear on the president’s public schedule, and no statements were released by either party.
Vaughn has previously identified as a libertarian. In a 2024 interview with The New York Times, he described his stance on policy as one focused on individual freedom. “I definitely am a believer more in allowing individuals to make choices… I’d rather say let people make their choices, and they can make different choices and have the consequences of their choices,” he said.
The actor previously drew attention in 2020 after briefly greeting Trump at a college football game in New Orleans. Following criticism online, Vaughn told the Los Angeles Times that the encounter was brief and without political discussion. “It was the only time I’ve ever met him. We said hello. He was very personable. I didn’t get into policies,” he said.
He also addressed his political independence. “I don’t have a party that I support and endorse,” Vaughn said. “In fact, for me sometimes it’s difficult to find a candidate that you feel is philosophically consistent and not just going along with whoever is funding their particular party.”
