Kate Moss is a world-famous British supermodel known for her somewhat controversial lifestyle. She is already 48 years old and still impresses with an impeccable figure and excellent appearance. What did the best years of her career look like? And what does she do now? Learn the story of fashion icon Kate Moss.

Kate Moss was born on January 16, 1974, in the British capital, London. The 48-year old supermodel and designer have had many successes and collaborations with the industry’s most prominent fashion houses to her credit. Besides her modeling career, she also has several acting credits to her name.

What else is Kate Moss known for? Stay tuned as in the following; we will share more information about Kate Moss’s personal life.

The career of Kate Moss

The beginning of the adventure with modeling dates back to the year 1988; Kate was spotted by Sarah Ducas from the modeling agency “Storm Agency”. This meeting took place at the airport when young Kate Moss returned from a family vacation in the Bahamas.

Since that time, a lot began to change in her life. At the beginning of the 90s, she appeared on the cover of the British magazine “The Face” when she was 16 years old. After that success, she was invited for photo shoots for the covers of the most popular fashion magazines. She has appeared in the American magazine “Vogue” and “HarperCollins”.

Kate MossHowever, a breakthrough in her career turned out to be the cooperation with Calvin Klein. She soon became an ambassador of the brand. As a favorite of Klein, in 1992, she fronted an appealing lingerie collection. By 1993, she wore the famous naked dress, which went down in history.

Other companies with which Kate Moss has formed fruitful collaborations include Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Coco Chanel, Gianni Versace and L’Oréal. Kate Moss is also known for her role in a lingerie commercial for Agent Provocateur, starring Mike Figgis, which proved so racy that the United States decided to censor it in 2006.

A career in TV and movies

Apart from her spectacular modeling career, Kate Moss can boast of her participation in several film and television productions. She has appeared in the cast of the comedy series titled “French and Saunders” and in the documentary “Models Close-up”. We could admire her in “Zoolander No. 2” in 2016, followed a year later by “Love Actually 2: Red Nose Day Actually”. In the two last productions, she played herself.

Kate Moss’s relationships and private life

The supermodel is quite a controversial figure. Once upon a time, it was pretty loud about her relationship with Johnny Depp. The pair met in New York in the famous bar Café Tabac. The American actor was starting his professional career, whereas Kate Moss climbed the career ladder.

Kate Moss and Johnny Depp

The entire media was talking about the relationship between the two celebrities. They were both considered rebels and… drug addicts. The model struggled with severe heroin addiction at the time. The pair often hit the headlines because of numerous scandals and police interventions that accompanied them.

Finally, Moss and Johnny Depp separated in 1998. Moss decided to go to rehab and, trying to put the debilitating relationship behind him, and Johnny Depp quickly hooked up with the phenomenal Vanessa Paradis.

Kate Moss and Pete Doherty

Kate Moss’ next partner was musician Pete Doherty. The pair were even engaged, but the relationship did not stand the test of time. Supermodel again returned to addiction, which caused her to lose many important contracts.

The approach to life completely changed when, following a soon-to-be relationship with journalist Jefferson Hack, Moss gave birth to a child in 2002. Now her daughter Lila Grace Moss Hack, often shows up with her amidst the limelight.

Many people think that the young girl confusingly resembles her mother. No one will be surprised that the beautiful Lila Grace has already started to take her first steps in the world of fashion, and the celeb tries to support her in this decision. Later on, the model married Jamie Hince, singer of the band The Kills, back in 2011.

Nowadays, Kate is 48 years old. Therefore she has decided to look for a new activity for herself. Not a long time ago, there were some rumors that the well-known style icon would become a tattoo artist!

Kate Moss and her daughter

She has already started training under the guidance of a well-known professional, Daniel Casone. They even went on to Glastonbury Festival together, on which Kate Moss debuted in her new professional role.

Kate Moss and Count Nikolai von Bismarck

In 2015, Jamie Hince and Kate Moss decided to end their relationship, probably due in no small part to a certain Count Nikolai von Bismarck – 14 years younger than Kate Moss. Some wonder if these two are still dating today: some say yes, the others say no.

Style & Beauty: Kate Moss and the heroin chic

In her career as a model, there is hardly anyone more in demand among photographers and designers than Kate Moss: Chanel, Burberry, Dior – all the doors are open to her. This may have something to do with the fact that she is very different from what was commonly understood as a model in the 90s.

She’s not very tall, but very thin and showed herself without make-up or with dark circles under her eyes. Kate Moss says that the Heroin Chic label is associated with her; she always detested it in interviews today.

Her experiments in style are still famous today – such as the see-through slip dress she wore to the Elite Model Agency’s “Look of the Year” party in 1993. Throughout the decades, Kate Moss has been a source of fashion inspiration. Particularly when it comes to party styles, this model knows what is best combined and how.

Kate Moss and her daughter

However, also her street styles inspire her to this day. Kate Moss cleverly combines casual outfits with a certain boho flair – either elegant with a blazer or rocky with a leather jacket. Although you can’t tell by looking at her, Kate Moss turned 48 in 2021. Their daughter is already also a sought-after model, and also Kate is still in demand instead of forgotten.

Kate Moss on social media?

Currently, this model herself does not have a personal social media account on Instagram. Instead, you can see photos of her from time to time on the official account of the Kate Moss Agency. In contrast, daughter Lila Grace Moss provides much more insight into her life on Instagram.
