Blizzard Explains Plans for MOBA: Heroes of the Storm’s Time Is Almost Up

The game will only be supported by Blizzard in order to focus on customer sustainability.

Heroes of the Storm will no longer receive new content in the form of major updates. This has been made known by Blizzard in a statement which makes it clear that from now on the MOBA will only receive patches for bug fixes and client sustainability, and some balance updates when necessary.

The news arrives when last June marked the seventh anniversary of Heroes of the Storm. Therefore, and because of the sad news announced a couple of days ago, Blizzard would like to compensate all users by giving them the rare Arcane Lizard mount next week.

The announcement reads:

“Going forward, we will support Heroes in a similar way to our other long-running games, StarCraft and StarCraft II. Going forward, we will continue with seasonal runs and hero rotations, and while the in-game store will continue to function, there are no plans to add new content for purchase. Future patches will focus primarily on client sustainability and bug fixes, with balance updates as needed.”

The fact is that Heroes of the Storm hasn’t received any new content for a while now since 2020. The latest that the MOBA received is Mei from Overwatch. Given all this, Blizzard concludes the statement as follows:

“To our Heroes community, we say “thank you”. You continue to be one of our most passionate communities, we are grateful for your continued dedication and support, and as always, we look forward to seeing you in the Nexus.”
