One of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Developers Died Defending Ukraine Against Russia

Vladimir “Fresh” Yezhov, a developer of S.T.A.L.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, died defending Ukraine from the Russian invasion, which has unfortunately been going on for almost a year now and has produced atrocious suffering both among the civilian population and the military personnel who have found themselves fighting this war.

An electronic engineer just 38 years old and a game designer at GSC Game World, Yezhov had been killed near Bakhmut, amid a long series of bloody clashes that he himself had given dramatic accounts of, talking about how a close friend of his had been shot dead by Russian troops.

The S.T.A.L.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl development team, as we all know, is going through an extremely complicated situation, with some of the employees busy working in precarious conditions, at best, and some enlisted in the Ukrainian army to defend the country from Putin’s intended aggression.

For those reasons, the game’s launch will probably not happen soon, though GSC Game World reiterated its intention to release the title in 2023, in spite of all these difficulties.
