The anticipation of a new version of Genshin Impact is strong right now between gamers! The whispers of version 4.0 have been circulating through the online realm like a gentle breeze, but now, the winds have picked up and the first details have been released to the masses.

Though we must wait until spring at the earliest to fully experience it, the snippets of information shared on the unofficial subreddit and by the ever-reliable leaker, @merlin_impact, have us on the edge of our seats.

Introducing Fontaine, the new region set to grace our screens in the upcoming update. This picturesque land, steeped in the Hydro element, is said to be heavily inspired by the grandeur and beauty of France and continental Europe from the 19th and 20th centuries, much like how Liyue and Inazuma are set in China and Japan.

The starting area of the game will also receive a fresh coat of paint, making it feel like a brand new adventure. Get ready to immerse yourself in the rich culture and history of Fontaine as you explore its rolling hills, picturesque villages, and grandiose architecture.

So, mark your calendars and set a reminder, Genshin Impact fans, for the arrival of version 4.0 and the enchanting land of Fontaine. Your journey through this new realm awaits!

Not all of the leaked lineup are from Fontaine according to Mero

The enigmatic leaker known as @merlin_impact has caused quite a stir on the internet with their recent tweet, which has since been deleted.

The tweet featured a sneak peek of some character designs from an upcoming region, sparking excitement and speculation among fans.

It seems that the new region will be a fusion of European and steampunk aesthetics, with three characters being revealed in the image. From left to right, they are Lynette, Neuvillete (Fontaine’s chief justice), and the mysterious Archon of Hydro.

The user @merlin_impact also hinted at another update that is yet to be announced, stating that the characters in the fifth and eighth positions in the image are not from Fontaine, but rather from a different update.

It is unclear whether this update will arrive before, at the same time, or after the new region, but it is said to revitalize Mondstadt, the starting area of Genshin Impact which has become somewhat dated in comparison to the more recent additions.

With the anticipation building and the teasing of updates, fans are eagerly waiting for more information from the developers.
