Embracer Group Is Now Working on 31 AAA Games

With five titles from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.

Get ready for some thrilling news from the gaming industry! The Embracer Group, a Swedish holding company for multiple game development studios, has recently released its financial results, and it’s bound to get gamers’ hearts racing.

The most exciting update? The group has revealed that they have a whopping 31 AAA games in the works, set to release between this fiscal year and March 2028.

If you’re wondering what AAA means for Embracer Group, it stands for titles that require over 100 full-time developers, come with a significant marketing budget, and are expected to sell at least 2 million copies. But that’s not all.

Embracer Group has a total of 224 games in development, including 33 ports to new platforms, 9 DLCs, 75 AA, A, or indie games with a budget of less than 3.5 million euros, 76 AA games, A or indie with a budget of more than 3.5 million, and of course, the 31 exciting AAA projects.

Saber Interactive, one of the most prominent studios under the Embracer Group operating group, has over 2,500 employees and 20 studios around the world. The company is working on 11 of the AAA titles, which is the most by any Embracer Group subsidiary. Teams like 4A Games, known for the Metro series, and Warhorse Studios, the creators of Kingdom Come, also operate under the Saber Interactive umbrella.

In second place, we have Gearbox Entertainment, known for Borderlands and recently acquired by Embracer Group. The studio is working on 8 AAA games, making them a strong contender in the gaming market.

Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal, the studios behind intellectual properties like Deus Ex, Thief, and Tomb Raider, were acquired by Embracer Group for a cool $300 million. These studios are working on 5 AAA games, including Perfect Dark, co-financed by Microsoft, and a new Tomb Raider installment, set to be published by Amazon Games.

Of the 31 AAA games Embracer Group has in the works, 26 are yet to be announced, while 7 will be published by third-party developers and 3 have non-holding developers. Additionally, 24 are based on known intellectual properties, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

Embracer Group is anticipating the release of 94 of these games in the coming fiscal year, including the highly anticipated Dead Island 2, Remnant 2, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II, Alone in the Dark, and Payday 3. With all these exciting titles in the pipeline, it’s clear that Embracer Group is committed to providing gamers with an unparalleled gaming experience.
