EA Sports FC 24, the upcoming football video game, is set to make a significant change by including professional female players in the Ultimate Team mode.
The mode, which has been a popular feature in previous iterations of the FIFA series, allows players to build their own teams by collecting cards of professional players.
For the first time, the game will also offer cards of women’s professional players, allowing players to create mixed teams.
The news was leaked by a Twitter user known as “FUTSheriff,” who is renowned for sharing inside information about the FIFA series. Although women’s football has been included in previous FIFA games, this is the first time it will be available in the Ultimate Team mode.

EA Sports FC is set to be a departure from the FIFA series, following a conflict with the title federation. While details about the new game are scarce, it is expected to retain the Ultimate Team mode, which has been a significant revenue generator for Electronic Arts.
Mixed teams are not entirely new to the FIFA series, as the Pro Clubs mode in FIFA 23 already allows players full freedom to choose their team members.
However, the Ultimate Team mode is the most popular mode and has not featured women’s professional players until now.
It is worth noting that FIFA 23 was the first installment of the series to feature a female footballer on the cover, Sam Kerr from Chelsea.
