Electronic Arts (EA) has announced the release of Volumes 3 and 4 as “Catch-up Packs” for its popular racing game, “Need for Speed Unbound.” These packs are now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. Designed for players who may have missed previous content releases, these packs offer an opportunity to acquire a range of cars and cosmetic items featured in earlier volumes.

Volume 3 and 4 Pack Contents

Priced at $9.99 each, both Catch-up Packs bring a unique collection of in-game items:

Volume 3 Includes:

  • Two legendary cars: the 2014 Dodge SRT Viper and the 2015 Ford Mustang GT.
  • A variety of customization options including vehicle rims, license plate frames, underglows, and more.
  • An assortment of horns, wrap editor decals, and character apparel.
  • Several signature style packs, audio, banner art, stickers, and player poses.

Volume 4 Features:

  • Two legendary custom cars: the Porsche 911 and the 2006 Lotus Exige S.
  • Similar customization options to Volume 3, with additional underglows and decals.
  • A comparable selection of horns, apparel, style packs, and more, enhancing player expression.

Volume 5: The Ultimate Experience

Need for Speed Unbound

For those seeking the most current content, Volume 5 encompasses all previous volumes. It includes 14 new Linkup Areas from Volumes 3 and 4, allowing players to join up to 16 others in a series of stunts and drives over four rounds.

The Speed Pass offers 75 refreshed free ranks, with a notable reward being the 1987 Buick Grand National GNX upon reaching rank 50. Players can also look forward to new Daily, Weekly, and One-Shot Challenges, adding to the 150 existing challenges and aiming to unlock the 2023 BMW M2 Coupe.

Patch Notes from Volume 5

Volume 5 introduces several general fixes and improvements, addressing issues related to gameplay, events, and visual glitches. Key fixes include:

  • Resolving challenges completion notifications and appearance issues.
  • Correcting visual glitches, particularly with cars having legendary body kits and various editions.
  • Quality of Life changes such as adding a Masking Decal functionality to the Wrap Editor and tweaking multiplayer event cadences.

Additionally, “Need for Speed Unbound” is currently available at discounted prices at various retailers as part of Black Friday deals, making it an opportune time for new players to join the action.
