As discovered by members of the Gaming Leaks and Rumours subreddit, “Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door” remake has been rated E for Everyone. This rating reflects the game’s mild fantasy violence and mild suggestive themes.
In line with the game’s playful and imaginative style, players will engage in turn-based combat against whimsical paper creatures, using various attacks like boot stomps, hammer strikes, and fireballs. These encounters are depicted in a cartoony manner, with enemies typically vanishing into stars and coins upon defeat.
The rating also notes some flirtatious dialogue and characters with exaggerated designs, aligning with the game’s lighthearted and humorous approach. The appearance of the game on the ESRB website has heightened fan speculation that Nintendo might release the RPG earlier than expected.
While an official release date hasn’t been announced, the ESRB rating is often one of the final steps before a game’s launch, suggesting that the release could be imminent.
