Arnold Schwarzenegger Hypes Fubar Season 2 With World’s Largest Action Figure

Colossal 22-foot statue sets Guinness record, but looks more like Paul Bunyan than the action star

Leave it to Arnold Schwarzenegger to go bigger than big when promoting the upcoming second season of his hit Netflix series Fubar. The action legend revealed the show has begun production on new episodes in characteristically larger-than-life fashion – by unveiling the world’s largest action figure, shattering a Guinness World Record.

Schwarzenegger took to Instagram to show off the absolutely colossal 22.14-foot (265.7 inch) tall plastic statue, a promotional piece nearly 50 times the size of a standard 5.52-inch action figure. The hulking figure was displayed at the ShowFX campus in Santa Fe Springs, California.

“That is one big pile of plastic,” Schwarzenegger jokes in the video before making a lofty promise: “And next season’s action figure will be twice as big.”

However, one issue viewers quickly noticed is that the gigantic statue’s facial features seem to bear more resemblance to the mythical lumberjack Paul Bunyan than the former Mr. Olympia himself. Sculpting an accurate 22-foot likeness is no easy task.

The eye-catching promo ploy continues Schwarzenegger’s flair for big, bombastic marketing stunts. Fans may recall the infamous 25-foot-tall inflatable Arnold used to advertise the 1993 film Last Action Hero, which looks rudimentary compared to the new Fubar behemoth.

Schwarzenegger’s bold claim about an even larger 44-foot Season 2 statue is surely said in jest, as constructing such a piece would likely cost a small fortune that could impact Netflix’s renewal decisions.

Jokes aside, Fubar was a breakout hit for Netflix upon its premiere last year. The action-comedy series stars Schwarzenegger and Monica Barbaro as a father-daughter duo who are both secretly elite CIA operatives caught up in a madcap spy adventure.

While a release date for Season 2 has not been set, production is now underway, with new cast addition Carrie-Anne Moss joining Schwarzenegger and Barbaro. Fans can likely expect more over-the-top marketing antics as the premiere nears for Fubar’s highly-anticipated second season.
