You’ll never guess who recently opened up about what really went down with her role on The Vampire Diaries. Torrey DeVitto, the actress who played Dr. Fell for a few seasons, revealed some juicy behind-the-scenes details in a recent podcast interview.
It turns out Torrey was actually married to one of the show’s main stars, Paul Wesley (aka Stefan Salvatore), while they were working on the show together. But they ended up splitting up after just two years of marriage. And get this – Torrey said being around her ex-husband was a big reason why she left the show so soon!
She explained it was super awkward being around Paul after their divorce. Can you blame her? Especially since TVD was such a huge hit and their breakup got a lot of attention. Torrey said she just didn’t want to keep coming back and dealing with the drama. And really, who would?
She also opened up about how hard the divorce was on her personally. Torrey called it a “really dark time” in her life. On top of that, dealing with fans of the show apparently made things worse. She said some people would attack her new relationships, telling her no one could live up to Paul’s character Stefan. Yikes!
