Have you seen the previews for the new action film Land of Bad? It looks intense! Russell Crowe leads a team of Delta Force soldiers on a dangerous mission in the Philippines that goes sideways. That’s where Liam Hemsworth’s character, Sergeant JJ Kinney, comes in.
Kinney is a JTAC, which stands for Joint Terminal Attack Controller. Basically these dudes are the ones calling in air strikes to support troops on the ground. They have to identify targets, direct bombing runs, and make sure planes don’t hit our own guys – it’s a huge responsibility.
In the movie, Kinney is embedded with Crowe’s team to help guide air attacks. When one of their guys gets captured, it’s up to Kinney to coordinate bomb drops and rescues. He has to give pilots precise coordinates under intense pressure. It seems like a super stressful job!
To nail the role, Liam apparently trained really hard. He learned weapon handling, communications procedures, and even got tips from a real JTAC named Kinney. That’s some serious preparation to seem authentic.
You can tell Liam worked to understand his character’s complex job. Even though he’s not in the direct fighting, Kinney plays a vital role through his coordination. The film looks at how all the different military roles come together in a high-stakes mission.
With Liam taking on such an important yet technical part, and Russell Crowe leading the action, Land of Bad is definitely one to watch. It gives a cool behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to succeed on missions like these.
