Emmy-winning actor Sterling K. Brown is making waves in Hollywood, discussing his entertainment career and future aspirations in a candid recent interview with Variety.
Brown expressed his desire to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, referencing his memorable role as N’Jobu in the first “Black Panther” film. “I would love to come back to the Marvel universe, absolutely,” he said, playfully urging the franchise to consider him for a potential multiverse appearance.
The actor also revealed he recently turned down a role in Amazon’s popular series “The Boys.” Despite being tempted by the “bad guy” part and feeling disappointed about not working again with creator Eric Kripke, Brown acknowledged the privilege of being selective about his roles. “Because I’m blessed enough to already have certain things in place, I get a chance to be a bit more choosy,” he explained.
Currently, Brown is focusing on “Paradise,” a new television series premiering January 28 on Hulu and ABC. Created by his “This Is Us” showrunner Dan Fogelman, the show follows Xavier Collins, a Secret Service head whose story unfolds in the aftermath of a presidential assassination.
Reflecting on his career, Brown emphasized his commitment to avoiding typecasting. “I have no desire to make people think I am something other than what I am,” he stated. “I’m a very flawed, very silly human being, but comfortable with being flawed and comfortable with being silly.”
As Brown continues to diversify his acting portfolio, fans can look forward to seeing his range and depth in upcoming projects.
