Reality personality Taylor Frankie Paul said Saturday she has stayed single and celibate in the months since ABC pulled her season of “The Bachelorette” from its schedule, addressing her personal life publicly for the first time since the show’s cancellation.
Paul, a star of Hulu’s “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” posted the update on Instagram alongside a photo of herself. “Sorry to those that thought they were going to see my redemption arc,” she wrote, adding that any comeback has “slowly just begun.” She said she has avoided intimacy with anyone since the fallout began and would not change that “unless he’s my person.” Paul, 32, is a mother of three, with one child from a relationship with ex-partner Dakota Mortensen and two from her marriage to ex-husband Tate Paul.
ABC pulled Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette” just three days before its scheduled March 22 premiere, after a 2023 video resurfaced showing her throwing a stool at Mortensen. Paul has since acknowledged cheating on Doug Mason, the contestant she chose at the end of her unaired season, with Mortensen. Mason proposed to her before the finale; he later released a statement saying he was “sending out prayers” for Paul because her moment “was blocked.”
Paul revealed additional details about her unaired season during a recent episode of Hulu’s “Get Real” podcast, telling fellow “Mormon Wives” castmembers that she accepted Mason’s proposal despite not planning for it. Her Instagram caption described the past several months as difficult but ultimately clarifying, writing that after “breaking” publicly, she was “sought to be destroyed” but instead came out stronger. She also shared an image of a magazine cover tied to press she says she never got to do because of the show’s cancellation.
Paul’s remarks come as she continues to build a following through “Mormon Wives,” now in its fifth season, while fan speculation persists over whether ABC might eventually air her scrapped Bachelorette footage or offer her another shot at the franchise.
