Actor Jared Padalecki sent a public message of support to Perez Hilton on Saturday, days after the celebrity blogger was hospitalized following a TikTok livestream in which he appeared to harm himself. “Just wanted to reach out and let you know that you’re in my thoughts,” Padalecki wrote on X, describing the experience of being human as by turns exhilarating, exhausting and, at times, difficult. He encouraged Hilton to be kind to himself and to lean on people who care about him, adding that the moment would pass.
Hilton was hospitalized Tuesday after Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to his home following reports that he was livestreaming self-harm. Officials said he was safely recovered and transported to a hospital, where mental health professionals also provided support to his family. His TikTok account was subsequently suspended. Hilton’s family said his children, niece and sister had been inside the home minutes before the incident and fled once it became clear he was in crisis, in order to shield the children from further trauma.
In a statement Friday, Hilton’s family described his condition as serious but stable, saying he lost significant blood and will need surgery for additional injuries in the coming days. They said his recovery will be a long process and thanked the public for its support while asking for privacy for Hilton and his three children. Golden Artists Entertainment, the talent agency representing Hilton, said this week it had been unable to reach him directly despite ongoing efforts, and that its focus remained on his health and his family’s privacy.
Padalecki, best known for his long-running role on “Supernatural,” has spoken openly in the past about his own experience with suicidal ideation and mental health treatment. His message adds to a wave of public support for Hilton since the incident, following statements from his family, representatives and longtime podcast collaborator Chris Booker.
