Eco-friendly, with first-class amenities, and surrounded by breathtaking nature – those are the resorts that, in the opinion of international experts, are absolutely worth a visit. Be it on a cliff or among the skyscrapers of New York, in these luxury properties, guests will find particularly spacious rooms to relax in.
While Scandinavian countries tend to be associated with minimalist design and muted colors, The Sommerro Hotel, which opens in September in the Norwegian capital of Oslo, proves to be an exception. Encircled by 19th-century buildings, it will feature Art Deco-style furnishings, an ornamental style that was particularly prevalent and popular in the 1920s and 1930s.
“We are Norway’s first hotel in this style,” the hotel promises on social media. However, even at the Sommerro Hotel, the Norwegian minimalism can’t be completely dismissed. In the 242 rooms, colorful Art Deco accents mix with traditional Nordic minimalism in the form of clean lines. Guests will find a plant-filled café, a Nordic Japanese restaurant, and Oslo’s first rooftop pool in common areas.
