Warner Bros Games Montreal recently clarified that Batman is not part of Gotham Knights, as Gotham will be run by Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin. Therefore, fans are now questioning the possible appearance of iconic villains such as the Joker and Harley Quinn.
Luckily, we already have an answer thanks to Patrick Redding, the creative director of the game, who spoke about the topic during a recent panel held at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Furthermore, he took advantage of the presentation to confirm that we won’t be seeing Batman in this new adventure.
Iconic Batman Villain Absent From Gotham Knights
During a Q&A session, Redding was asked about the Joker’s appearance in Gotham Knights. Much to the disappointment of many, he stated that the iconic villain is not going to be a part of the game. Redding did not discuss this further, so it is unclear why the Joker will be missing from the game.
Meanwhile, his answer about Harley Quinn made some fans excited, but also worried others. That is because he neither denied nor confirmed the villain’s appearance. “I won’t confirm or deny if Harley is in,” Redding merely commented.
About Batman, he claimed that the Dark Knight will be truly dead, so players should better not expect a surprise appearance at the end of the game or something like that.
As a matter of fact, it was revealed that the superhero will be dead in the first few minutes of the game and that will set up the story that was presented since the first trailer.
We haven’t seen much about the game’s villains during the last few trailers, but we do know that Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin will be going up against the dangerous Court of Owls. Gotham Knights will be coming on October 25 to PlayStation 5, Xbox X|S Series and PC.
