Sonic’s latest title is a real treat for lovers of platformers and Sega’s mascot, Sonic Frontiers didn’t disappoint in its premiere, and it has a pretty powerful narrative, not leaving practically no loose ends.
Nevertheless, if you’ve passed Sonic Frontiers on normal or easy difficulty, you’ll have noticed that the final scene “is somewhat incomplete”, and this is basically because you haven’t unlocked the game’s best ending.
The latest Sonic title holds a surprise ending, not just with an additional credits scene, but with a confrontation you’re not expecting, but you can only unlock it in one way.
So, we’ll tell you how to unlock the true ending in Sonic Frontiers so you can see the true narrative of this new Sonic game.
Unlocking the True Ending in Sonic Frontiers
We’re not going to give away a single spoiler in the guide, just so you can read carefully and without fear.
Essentially, to access the true ending we must finish the game on hard mode.
Please note that on normal difficulty or lower we won’t face the real final enemy and we won’t see the full credits scene.
Neither is it necessary to complete the entire adventure on hard difficulty, you simply must have the hard difficulty selected before the sixth chaos emerald is reached on the last island.
Prior to that, your could have the lowest difficulty mode without any problems. After you have selected the hard difficulty on this last island, we have to defeat the supreme titan.
Here comes the difference though, Once you defeat the supreme titan both Sonic and Sage move to another area to face the true form of the final enemy, complete with a play style that changes from the last confrontation.
If you can make it through this new confrontation, you’ll actually see the true ending which will fill you up much more than the normal, easy ending.
The Sonic Frontiers is available now on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Have you played this game so far? What do you think about it? Let us know in the comments below.
