At the end of last month, the last episode of The Walking Dead series aired. However, Fans of the Living Dead universe need not grieve, as several upcoming spin-offs are already in store, to say nothing of the currently airing side productions.
One upcoming novelty will be the series telling the further fate of Rick and Michonne. Danai Gurira has decided to personally share an update on this project,.
The Michonne role-player appeared on the podcast 20 Questions: On Deadline, where she disclosed the approximate release date of the new series starring her.
“I think it will be the end of 2023, somewhere around that date. Halloween, or a little later. That’s the plan,” the actress revealed.
Besides Danai Gurira, of course, Andrew Lincoln will also appear in the upcoming series, reprising his role as Rick Grimes.
In fact, His character was seen in the closing scenes of the last episode of The Walking Dead. However, which future awaits these two? We’ll find out soon enough.
Apart from a spin-off dedicated to Rick and Michonne, the The Walking Dead universe is doing really well. The Fear the Walking Dead series will be back next year with its 8th season.
The Walking Dead: The New World lived to see its 2nd season. The Tales of the Walking Dead anthology recently received its first season.
The Walking Dead: Dead City series will come next year, centered on Maggie Rhee (Lauren Cohan) and Negan Smith (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).
On top of that, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) will get his own series as well, and will return in an episodic production called The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon.
Curiously, the series devoted to Rick and Michonne does not yet have an exact title, and filming will not begin until January 2023.
Will the broadcast then start late next year? It may be December, so the deadline given by Danai Gurira is as realistic as possible. Are you waiting for the arrival of this production?
