The Russian-based developer Mundfish has enjoyed considerable success with “Atomic Heart,” and publisher Focus Entertainment appears to be quite pleased with the game’s sales performance thus far. In April, it was reported that the financial expectations for the game had been surpassed.
However, the release of the shooter game is merely the beginning. The developers have planned expansions to enhance the gaming experience further, and the first DLC has been revealed today in a teaser trailer, which can be found below.
Teaser Trailer Unveils First DLC
Although the teaser is only 20 seconds long and doesn’t disclose much, it does confirm that players can anticipate the DLC’s release during the summer. Leading up to the official announcement and introduction of the new content, it is likely that additional teasers will be released.
Regarding the forthcoming expansion, the official statement provides a general overview: “Plant 3826 still has many undiscovered places… Get a glimpse of one of the extraordinary locations you’ll soon explore in the upcoming Atomic Heart DLC.”
Atomic Pass and Future DLC Plans
Owners of the Atomic Pass will not incur additional charges for the upcoming downloadable add-on. For a one-time payment of 39.99 euros, the pass provides unlimited access to the four planned DLC expansions, which will be rolled out over the next few months.
These expansions for Atomic Heart will unlock new areas in laboratories, along with new weapons, enemies, bosses, and skins.
About Atomic Heart
Atomic Heart is an action-adventure shooter game developed by Mundfish, set in an alternate reality of the Soviet Union. Players assume the role of an agent navigating a vast factory, encountering a variety of puzzles, battles, and missions.
The story will not conclude with the release of the expansions. In fact, the developers at Mundfish have been quite candid about the possibility of a sequel.
Atomic Heart was launched for consoles and PCs in February this year. The teaser trailer mentioned earlier, which offers a first glimpse at the upcoming DLC, can be viewed above.
“Take a wild ride through a candy-coated dreamscape with our Atomic Heart: Trapped in Limbo DLC review. Explore the surreal and sugary challenges that await in this unexpected adventure.”
