In a recent update that might rattle the excitement of fans eagerly awaiting the launch of “Mortal Kombat 1,” WB Games has confirmed via Twitter that the highly anticipated game will not feature crossplay upon its release. Instead, the game will introduce this much-anticipated feature through a post-launch patch.

The official Mortal Kombat Twitter account conveyed the message, stating, “Launch is just around the corner and we can’t wait for everyone to sink their teeth into Mortal Kombat 1. Regarding Kross-Play, it will not be available at launch, but know we are hard at work at implementing the feature into the game and it will be koming post-launch.”

In simpler terms, players will be unable to engage in battles with opponents on different gaming platforms on the very first day of the game’s release.

As of now, neither WB Games nor NetherRealm, the developer of Mortal Kombat 1, has disclosed a specific release date or window for the introduction of crossplay, leaving fans to speculate when they can expect this exciting feature to be added to their gaming experience.

While gamers eagerly await more details about crossplay, questions have arisen regarding whether the game will support cross-save functionality between PCs and consoles. Unfortunately, WB Games and the developer have yet to respond to these queries, keeping players in suspense regarding potential cross-save features.

On a more positive note, WB Games has confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 will utilize rollback netcode, a popular networking tool that promises more stable and seamless online matches. This addition should provide players with smoother and more enjoyable combat experiences.

Mark your calendars for September 19th, as that’s when Mortal Kombat 1 is set to make its grand entrance on various platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Excitement is building as fans anticipate the opportunity to preload the game a few days in advance. Additionally, players who opt for a pre-order will be rewarded with Shang Tsung as a playable character bonus, adding an extra layer of excitement to the game’s impending release.
