MCU Legends Comeback? Feige Discusses Iron Man and Captain America’s Potential Return

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige suggests the return of iconic heroes is possible, citing Hugh Jackman's Wolverine comeback as a blueprint

Marvel President Kevin Feige has got Marvel fans buzzing with the idea that Iron Man and Captain America may suit up again. Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans ended their runs as these iconic heroes in “Avengers: Endgame.” But in a recent interview, Feige hinted that somehow, someway, we may see them back in action.

When asked if bringing back beloved actors was possible, Feige said “It can be done.” But he knows they’d have to be really careful about it. He pointed to Hugh Jackman coming back as Wolverine in the new “Deadpool” movie as proof it works – as long as story comes first. Feige said Marvel spent over two years figuring out how to bring Wolverine back in a way that respects how amazing his ending was in “Logan.”

Downey Jr. and Evans wrapped up their stories perfectly already, which makes bringing them back tricky. But the multiverse is now a big part of Marvel movies. This could open doors to see familiar faces again somehow. Fans are already buzzing with ideas, like using time travel to de-age Captain America or finding alternate versions from other universes. Crazy rumors even say Iron Man might come back as a bad guy like Doctor Doom!

Kevin Feige tells us whether a MCU return for Tony Stark or Steve Rogers is now possible after they successfully brought back Hugh Jackman after ‘LOGAN’

“It can be done — if great care is taken”

Both actors have hinted they’d consider returning before. Evans keeps getting asked and Downey Jr. said he’d think about it with the right new role. Feige knows bringing them back would need to honor their past while also moving the story to new heights. As long as it adds to their legends instead of taking away, these heroes might fly again.

With big Marvel events like Comic-Con and new movies like “The Kang Dynasty” ahead, everyone wants to know – will we see Iron Man and Captain America suit up once more? Only time will tell. But like Wolverine, the door may be open if Marvel finds the right unexpected way to make a comeback work.
