In a shocking reversal from his beloved debut as Tony Stark/Iron Man over a decade ago, Downey Jr. will instead menace Earth’s Mightiest Heroes as the formidable Latverian monarch and master of magnetism. “When Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige told me about their ambitious plans to have RDJ take on such an iconic villain, I was floored,” said one talent agent in attendance. “It’s an incredibly risky move but one that shows their willingness to constantly subvert expectations.”

Industry insiders believe Doom’s actions in Avengers: Doomsday will have rippling effects through all future MCU films, with the conclusion of 2026’s hotly-anticipated Secret Wars also implicated.
