In a surprising move during the Super Bowl broadcast, Seth Rogen introduced a new trailer for his upcoming Apple TV+ comedy series, The Studio. Set to premiere on March 26, the show focuses on a fictional movie studio led by Rogen’s character, Matt Remick, as he contends with creative pressures and corporate demands.
The trailer, titled Duhpocalypse, includes a notably provocative scene featuring a zombie and a graphic moment of flatulence. In a boardroom discussion, Remick declares, “No, it’s true, but I definitely want that diarrhea explosion in the trailer,” while his colleagues debate whether to keep the scene.
Presented as a movie within the series, the faux trailer stars Josh Hutcherson and Johnny Knoxville. In the clip, Hutcherson’s character faces off against a zombie amid frantic news updates. Knoxville’s remarks and Hutcherson’s alarm lend an unexpected twist to the depiction of a typical zombie thriller.
Developed by Seth Rogen alongside Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez, The Studio features an ensemble cast that includes Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn, Ike Barinholtz, Chase Sui Wonders, Bryan Cranston, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, and Dewayne Perkins.
Produced by Lionsgate Television and Point Grey Pictures for Apple TV+, the series offers a look at a movie studio grappling with both creative ambitions and corporate challenges. You can watch the trailer below.
