Jimmy Fowlie, a writer on “Saturday Night Live,” has asked the public for help finding his sister, Christina Lynn Downer, who police say has been missing in Los Angeles since Dec. 10. The Los Angeles Police Department said Downer, 38, last exchanged a text message with a friend and was last known to be in Koreatown.
In a statement circulated with the missing-person alert, police said Downer has no known medical conditions and has not gone missing before, points her family shared as they tried to widen the search beyond their immediate circles. Police described her as 5-foot-1, about 115 pounds, with dark hair and brown eyes, and said she may also go by Christina Fowlie.
Fowlie posted the LAPD flyer on Instagram on Dec. 22, writing that his family is “worried that she isn’t safe,” and urged anyone who recognizes her or has recent contact to call detectives. The flyer lists case number 25237639 and directs tips to the LAPD Missing Persons Unit at (213) 996-1800.
The public appeal has spread quickly across entertainment circles and Los Angeles community feeds, a familiar pattern in high-attention missing-person cases where friends and colleagues share the same official image and description to generate sightings. Police have released no additional details about what led up to Downer’s disappearance, and the department has not said that it suspects foul play.
Authorities asked anyone with information to contact the LAPD directly. People who want to remain anonymous can submit tips through Los Angeles Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS, and the department also maintains a 24-hour anonymous tip line at 877-LAPD-24-7. In an emergency, officials advise calling 911.
