Just over 24 hours ago, Nintendo promised that the June Direct would unveil an exciting lineup of Nintendo Switch games for the second half of 2023.

It has undoubtedly delivered on that promise, with a mix of first-party and third-party announcements. Nintendo also surprised us with a glimpse into two projects set to release in 2024: a game starring Princess Peach and a remaster of Luigi’s Mansion 2.

Mario Takes Center Stage

As expected, Mario has played a prominent role in the announcements. Fans can look forward to two exciting releases. First, Super Mario Bros. Wonder, scheduled for October 20, reintroduces the mustachioed hero to evolve the beloved 2D side-scrolling genre. Additionally, Super Mario RPG receives a long-awaited remake, set to launch on November 17.

Pikachu and Pikmin Return

Vampire Survivors will be releasing a Switch version, Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 receives a release date, and Square Enix has unveiled Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince.

Furthermore, Private Division has revealed Penny’s Big Breakaway, a dynamic 3D platformer developed by the talented minds behind Sonic Mania.
