CD Projekt Red has announced the release of the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition, a comprehensive package that represents the culmination of the game’s three-year journey of improvements and expansions.

This edition is a testament to the game’s remarkable redemption arc, coming after significant updates and the much-anticipated Phantom Liberty expansion.

Set to release on December 5, 2023, the Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition includes the base game, the substantial update 2.0 with all its free changes, and the premium Phantom Liberty story expansion.

This version offers an all-encompassing experience of the game’s sprawling, neon-drenched world of Night City, making it an ideal pick for both newcomers and returning players.

Availability and Pricing Details

The Ultimate Edition will be available in both physical and digital formats for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X and S. While specifics on the physical edition’s availability and pricing are yet to be disclosed, the digital bundle, which includes the base game and DLC, is currently priced at $82.78 / £68.98 on Steam. Given previous pricing trends, the Ultimate Edition is expected to be similarly priced.

A Symbol of Resilience and Redemption

cyberpunk 2077

The launch of this edition is more than just an addition to the game’s lineup; it’s a symbol of CD Projekt Red’s commitment to improving and evolving Cyberpunk 2077. Quest director Paweł Sasko reflected on the journey, expressing pride in the team’s resilience and dedication to turning the game around.

This echoes the industry examples set by titles like the Halo series and No Man’s Sky, which also demonstrated the potential for redemption and success following challenging launches.

For those new to Cyberpunk 2077, or even returning veterans, the Ultimate Edition offers the perfect opportunity to dive deep into Night City’s rich narrative and expansive open world.

With the game now in its most complete form, players can explore various builds and experience the full breadth of what Cyberpunk 2077 has to offer, alongside other open-world games for an enriched gaming experience.
