The veil has seemingly been lifted a bit too early on the next major State of Decay 3 reveal. According to a leak spotted today, developer Undead Labs appears to have accidentally published details indicating a new trailer for the long-awaited survival horror sequel will premiere at tomorrow’s Xbox Games Showcase.
As reported by @gematsu on X, a now-removed link on Undead Labs’ jobs page briefly went live containing a press release that explicitly stated: “Undead Labs revealed its new brand during the highly anticipated Xbox Showcase presentation on June 9th in the newest State of Decay 3 trailer.”
The leak also seemed to include an early glimpse at Undead Labs’ updated logo, further suggesting imminent marketing materials are in the works tied to the Xbox event. While the jobs page has since been taken down, the unintentional details align with expectations that the third mainline State of Decay installment would make an appearance after going dark since its initial announcement nearly three years ago.

Undead Labs first unveiled State of Decay 3 with a cinematic teaser trailer at the July 2020 Xbox Games Showcase. Billed as being in the early stages of development at the time, the open-world zombie survival game has remained relatively under wraps in the years since, failing to make an appearance at last year’s Xbox showcase as well.
If accurate, tomorrow’s leaked State of Decay 3 trailer would mark the first major reveal for the marquee Xbox franchise in quite some time. Key details like release window, gameplay footage, and an overview of new features could potentially be included after such a lengthy period of silence.
State of Decay 3 wouldn’t be the only major Xbox franchise rumored for a showing at the upcoming event. Reports have also circulated about the unveiling of a new Doom game called The Dark Ages as well as Gears of War 6 being announced during the showcase livestream.
