The Disney+ series ‘Ironheart’ is scheduled for release in 2025. The show will follow the character of Riri Williams as she becomes the new armored hero called Ironheart. Dominique Thorne will star as Riri Williams, who was first introduced in the movie Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
The series will show Riri Williams returning to her hometown of Chicago where she will face new challenges. One challenge will come from the character of Parker Robbins, also known as The Hood. Anthony Ramos will play this villain whose powers come at a cost to his physical health. In the comics, The Hood’s abilities are granted through an enchanted hood, but it starts to damage his body externally and change his personality.
Ramos described his character’s journey in an interview, explaining that The Hood first starts out committing small crimes like theft. Over time, his addiction to power causes his actions to become more severe as he seeks revenge. The production values for Ironheart seem high, with Ramos praising the art department, visual effects team, and special effects makeup for their work bringing The Hood to life.
Not much is known yet about the plot, but the series is expected to show Riri Williams building her own high-tech armor suit from spare parts, similar to how Tony Stark became Iron Man. Thorne’s performance as the genius Riri Williams has already received praise from Ramos and others. Additional cast members include actors reprising roles from other Marvel movies as well as newcomers. Rumors say Sacha Baron Cohen may debut as Mephisto, though this is still unconfirmed.
As the Marvel Cinematic Universe expands on Disney+, Ironheart stands out for its potential to introduce compelling characters and explore themes of innovation, power, and responsibility. By blending technology with strong storytelling, the show aims to carve out its own space in the ever-growing Marvel universe.
