Hollywood actress Demi Moore recently gave an update on the health of her ex-husband, action star Bruce Willis. Moore and Willis were married from 1987 to 2000 and share three daughters together. In a recent interview on “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Moore said that Willis is currently in a “stable” state following his diagnosis of aphasia and frontotemporal dementia earlier this year.
Frontotemporal dementia is a neurological condition that impacts behavior, language, and movement. It primarily affects individuals under the age of 60. In February, Willis’s family announced his condition had progressed to this type of dementia.
Despite the challenges of his diagnosis, Moore emphasized the importance of supporting loved ones. “What I say to my kids is you meet them where they’re at. You don’t hold on to who they were or want them to be, but who they are in this moment,” Moore stated. She visits Willis weekly in Los Angeles and said their time together brings “beauty and joy.”
Moore’s daughter Tallulah also appeared on Barrymore’s show last year. She noted that while her father remains “the same,” being with him allows her to “see love” which is “really special.” Willis’s current wife Emma Heming Willis recently called for less “misleading” media coverage of his condition to avoid scaring people.
Throughout Willis’s health struggles, his family has displayed a united front. Moore has maintained close relationships not only with Willis but also his wife Emma and their two young daughters. The amicable co-parenting between Moore and Willis, even after their 2000 divorce, demonstrates the strength of their family bond.
