Viaplay, a streaming platform, has announced plans to release a documentary collection focused on Formula 1 driver Max Verstappen. The series will include eleven programs that give viewers a glimpse into the life and career of the three-time world champion.
The documentary collection is scheduled to begin rolling out on October 14th in the United States and United Kingdom. Different titles in the series will premiere throughout October and November. Viewers will get a comprehensive look at Verstappen’s journey to becoming one of the top drivers in modern Formula 1 racing.
One highlight is a three-part series called “Off the Beaten Track” that will explore Verstappen’s unique approach and strong mental game. Another is “Master of the Track” with 22 short episodes delving into these topics. Verstappen said the series shows a side of him usually unseen during races. He hopes it gives viewers insight into his life, passion for motorsports, and inspirations.
The director of two documents in the collection said filming Verstappen was challenging since he dislikes large film crews. By keeping crews small, Verstappen seemed more relaxed and comfortable being himself on camera. Viewers can expect an authentic portrayal of the driver’s personality.
Individual titles will roll out between October 21st and November 25th. In addition to Formula 1 content, Viaplay offers documentaries on soccer stars and drama/true crime shows. The platform distributes its services in the U.S. and U.K. as add-ons through partnerships with streaming platforms.
As Formula 1 grows globally in popularity, this documentary series promises fans and newcomers an intimate view of one of the sport’s most prominent figures both during and outside of races.
