The show puts singles in “pods” where they can talk but not see each other as they seek a marriage match. Fans will also be excited for the third season of the acclaimed LGBTQ+ teen drama “Heartstopper” on October 3rd. The new season continues following the romance between main characters Charlie and Nick while also tackling mental health.
Sports fans have “Starting 5” to look forward to, a new docuseries about this NBA season premiering October 9th. Cameras follow stars like Jimmy Butler, LeBron James, and Jayson Tatum as they navigate the challenges of professional basketball. The project hails from production companies associated with notable names like LeBron James, Peyton Manning, and Barack and Michelle Obama.
International audiences can check out “The Shadow Strays” action thriller from Indonesian director Timo Tjahjanto on October 17th. The film trails a young assassin facing suspension after a botched mission. With Tjahjanto’s reputation in the action genre, this Netflix original could stand out.
Tyler Perry also joins Netflix with a new drama series called “Tyler Perry’s Beauty in Black” on October 24th. Spanning 16 episodes split into two parts, the show explores the lives of two women from different backgrounds as their paths intersect.
Closing out the month is season two of the political thriller “The Diplomat” starring Keri Russell on October 31st. Picking up its examination of US-UK relations, this season adds Allison Janney to its accomplished cast.
