On Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025, the makers of “Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups” unveiled a first-look poster introducing Nayanthara as Ganga, framing the actor in a hard-edged, weapon-in-hand pose at what appears to be the entrance of a casino. The reveal adds another marquee name to Yash’s long-awaited return to the big screen, with the film currently slated for a March 19, 2026 theatrical release.
Director Geetu Mohandas positioned the casting as a deliberate reinvention. In a statement circulated with the poster, she said audiences will “witness a talent that had been quietly waiting to explode,” signaling a role designed to play against expectations while leaning into Nayanthara’s screen command. The project has rolled out character introductions for other key roles in recent weeks, including Kiara Advani as Nadia and Huma Qureshi as Elizabeth, using stylized posters to shape a tone that reads as glamorous, dangerous, and character-forward rather than purely plot-driven marketing.
“Toxic” is written and directed by Mohandas and produced by Yash alongside Venkat K. Narayana under their banners, Monster Mind Creations and KVN Productions. The production has pitched the film as a rare English–Kannada bilingual, shot simultaneously, with dubbed versions planned for multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. Mohandas has described the intent as keeping the storytelling authentic across languages, while the producers have framed the format as a step toward a wider international reach.
That global push shows up in the crew list being promoted around the film: cinematography by Rajeev Ravi, action choreography by J.J. Perry, and visual effects work credited to DNEG, with filming reported to have begun in August 2024. For Yash, whose last screen appearance came with 2022’s “KGF: Chapter 2,” the campaign around “Toxic” reads as a statement play—built to travel, marketed early, and anchored by star casting that’s being introduced one striking image at a time.
