Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Boxed Version Requires Massive Download

Gamers with slow internet connections beware.

Prepare for a massive download if you plan on purchasing the boxed version of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. Similar to Hogwarts Legacy, physical copies of the game contain only a portion of the necessary data, with the rest being required to download from the internet. This could be problematic for gamers with slow or unreliable internet connections.

According to a recent report, players who purchase the physical version of the game will not be able to play it until they download the additional data.

The game requires an enormous 80-90 GB of data to be downloaded before it can be launched, which could take hours or even days for some gamers depending on their internet speeds.

It is worth noting that this download is on top of the already significant space requirement for the game. Previous reports indicate that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes up around 150 GB of storage on consoles.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor physical copies only contain around 62GB of data on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The game requires you to download the additional 80-90GB of data before you can start the game. That means the game isn't playable offline. Similar situation to Hogwarts Legacy. pic.twitter.com/2XOqkr5dzF

With the game set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on April 28th, gamers who opt for the physical copy should be prepared for the long wait before they can fully immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe.

For those with slow internet speeds or limited data plans, it may be more practical to purchase the digital version of the game, which eliminates the need for a massive download and grants immediate access to the full game.

However, for collectors or those who prefer physical copies of games, the massive download may be a small price to pay for the satisfaction of owning a tangible copy of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
