While the Top Gun Maverick movie is still conquering world cinemas, new cinematic projects starring Tom Cruise are in development around the world.
The release of the seventh installment of Mission: Impossible is already due next year. However, this time some new information about the eighth installment of this action cinema series has surfaced.
As reported by Deadline, the film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two (Mission: Impossible 8) is going to star Holt McCallany. He is an actor who fans of the Mindhunter series are certainly familiar with.
According to the information released, McCallany was assigned the role of Secretary of Defense Bernstein.
It is worth noting, however, that the character is not likely to feature in the seventh installment of Mission: Impossible, which is why the announcement refers to the eighth installment of Ethan Hunt’s fate.
The movie Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (Mission: Impossible 7) got its first trailer two months ago. However, unfortunately, we will have to wait until July 2023 for its arrival.
This seventh part of Mission: Impossible will include an open ending. The storyline that was started will be concluded only with the screening of the eighth installment of the series.
Taking the full title of the upcoming film, Mission: Impossible 8 will from now on be referred to as Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Two.
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (Mission: Impossible 7) is directed by Christopher McQuarrie. Along with Tom Cruise in the lead role, the cast will include Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Simon Pegg, Shea Whigham, Ving Rhames and Henry Czerny. Part eight of the Mission: Impossible will hit the big screen on June 28, 2024.
