Hitman fans, rejoice! IO Interactive has resurrected one of the game’s most iconic elusive targets with the release of “The Undying” content update for Hitman World of Assassination. Starring the renowned actor Sean Bean, the new content allows players to once again take on the role of Mark Faba, a former MI5 agent turned freelance assassin.
First introduced in 2018’s Hitman 2, “The Undying” mission tasks players with finally putting an end to Faba’s legendary exploits. Known for his uncanny ability to cheat death, having been confirmed killed over 25 times, Faba now sets his sights on the Global Innovation Race event in Miami, utilizing his expert surveillance, infiltration, and demolition skills.
For the first time ever, newcomers to the Hitman universe can experience “The Undying” through the free Starter Pack, which includes “The Oroborous” – a three-level Arcade contract featuring the elusive target. Players can attempt the escalating missions repeatedly, with progress resetting after each failure and the contract locking for 12 hours before another attempt can be made.
Veteran Hitman World of Assassination players, on the other hand, will have the opportunity to take on “The Undying” as the original, one-chance-only elusive target, with the added incentive of unlocking the coveted Ephemeral Suit by completing the associated challenge.
Accompanying the return of “The Undying” is a brand-new DLC pack, priced at $4.99/€4.99/£3.99. In addition to “The Oroborous” Arcade contract, the pack includes the Ephemeral Suit with Eye Patch, three unique items (Kronstadt Mini Flash Robo XOI-2900, Kronstadt IOI-1998X Surround Earphones, and Kronstadt Explosive Pen Gen 2), and a set of six cosmetic items for the Freelancer Safehouse inspired by the iconic mission.
But that’s not all! IO Interactive has also introduced a new Twitch Drop in the form of the Purple Streak Duck. Players can earn this exclusive item by linking their Twitch account to their IOI account and watching a cumulative hour of Hitman World of Assassination streams between March 22nd and March 31st.
Additionally, the update brings several new challenges, including the “Oocyanin Hunt” in Berlin, “Forged in Fire” on Ambrose Island, and “The Great Thief” in New York, each offering unique rewards upon completion.
