Ryan Reynolds is showering immense praise upon co-star Emma Corrin for their scene-stealing turn as the powerful mutant villain Cassandra Nova in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine. In a recent profile interview, the actor likened Corrin’s charismatic yet menacing presence to “a skin-covered Swiss Army knife” capable of radiating “mischief, danger, unpredictability.”

“Emma brought a Gene Wilder energy… from their first scene onward, we understand the villain enough to know why she’s motivated to oppose our heroes,” Reynolds effused. “And that’s because Emma is so f*cking excellent at humanizing even the most chaotic lines.”

The Deadpool star’s glowing admiration was echoed by Hugh Jackman, who reprises his iconic Wolverine role. Jackman marveled at Corrin’s ability to “so subtly change – to turn on a dime. There was an effortlessness, a sense of danger” constantly keeping audiences guessing.

While a relative newcomer to comic book media, Corrin has embraced the opportunity to portray Cassandra Nova, the nefarious twin sister of Professor X. Though admittedly not a “Marvel person” prior to this role, they were left awestruck by the MCU’s rich mythology and worldbuilding.

Corrin previously discussed their excitement about joining the franchise “as a villain – an itch I want to scratch.” Despite initial trepidation over the comics’ dizzying canon, they came to deeply appreciate “the language and the Easter eggs…it’s amazing.”

As the fiercely formidable foe squaring off against Deadpool and Wolverine’s wisecracking duo, Corrin has seemingly risen to the challenge. If Reynolds and Jackman’s effusive feedback is any indication, audiences are in for an unforgettable display of villainous verve.
