Netflix Series “Kaos” Appeals to Adult Fans of Greek Mythology Stories

New streaming series reimagines ancient legends for mature viewers, drawing comparisons to popular young adult franchise

A new Netflix series is attracting viewers interested in mythology tales for mature audiences. “Kaos” debuted recently and shares themes with the Percy Jackson book and TV series. However, “Kaos” explores these themes in a more adult way.

Like Percy Jackson, “Kaos” features Greek gods living among humans today. In the show, Mount Olympus looks like a fancy mansion where gods move freely between their divine home and Earth. Both stories also picture the gods as flawed beings who impact mortals’ lives.

While the Disney+ Percy Jackson TV show targets younger viewers, “Kaos” aims for adults. It deals with darker topics unsuitable for children. This more serious take on mythology could interest fans who have outgrown Percy Jackson but still enjoy stories of ancient legends.

Jeff Goldblum stars in “Kaos” and lends his talent to a blend of mythology and modern world. Like Percy Jackson, the show balances humor with more serious storylines. It also examines how prophecies influence the plots, similar to Rick Riordan’s books.

“Kaos” debuts as fans await new seasons of the Percy Jackson television adaptation not expected until 2025. This gap leaves an opening for “Kaos” to engage mythology enthusiasts. Viewer response will determine if Netflix renews the series for additional episodes to further develop storylines and mysterious connections between characters.

Overall, “Kaos” puts a fresh spin on classic myths by setting them in contemporary settings and targeting mature audiences. While not fit for all Percy Jackson fans, it offers an intriguing new portrayal of timeless legends for adult viewers still fond of Greek mythology.
