Fans received major hints about one of the most shocking fan theories in “The Boys” lore during the announcement of the new prequel series “Vought Rising” at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. Set in the 1950s and premiering in 2024 on Amazon Prime Video, the show is expected to delve into the murky past of the notorious Vought Corporation through a twisted murder mystery storyline.
At the center of the intrigue is one question that has long fascinated viewers – who are Homelander’s real parents? The unhinged leader of The Seven, portrayed by Antony Starr, is one of the most powerful and unbalanced Supes but little is known about the origins of his abilities. One popular fan theory suggests that Stormfront, the Nazi Supe played by Aya Cash, is actually Homelander’s biological mother given their shared powers of flight and heat vision.
“Vought Rising” will likely shed more light on this idea by reintroducing Soldier Boy, to be played once again by Jensen Ackles. In Season 3 of “The Boys,” it was revealed that Soldier Boy is Homelander’s father, explaining the pair’s super strength. However, Stormfront’s involvement in Vought’s early experiments opens up the possibility that she contributed to Homelander’s genetic makeup as well. Showrunner Eric Kripke teased that the prequel will delve into the “complex history” of the corporation and characters during the early days of Compound V testing.
Fans will see Stormfront as part of the Hitler Youth, having received one of Nazi Germany’s versions of Compound V which transformed her into an enhanced human decades before her appearances in present-day America. Alongside Ackles’ Soldier Boy, who was one of the first test subjects for Vought, Stormfront and the twisted science that created modern-day Supes will take center stage. How the characters’ histories intertwine and whether the prequel confirms or denies the theory about Homelander’s mother are two of the biggest question marks driving anticipation for “Vought Rising.”
