Kate Mansi Exits ‘General Hospital’ After Three Years as Kristina Corinthos-Davis

The Daytime Emmy winner, who earned a 2025 Emmy nomination for her performance in Kristina's surrogate pregnancy arc, filmed her final episode in April after choosing not to renew her contract.

Kate Mansi is leaving “General Hospital” after three years as Kristina Corinthos-Davis, departing the ABC daytime drama on the exact anniversary of her Port Charles debut and closing out one of the show’s more substantive character arcs in recent seasons.

Mansi confirmed the news herself, saying she made “the very difficult decision to leave.” She cited two driving factors: a set of new projects demanding her full attention, and the need for scheduling flexibility to travel with her husband, producer Matt McInnis, whose current series shoots primarily overseas. Her contract ran its course and she chose not to renew; she has already finished taping at the show’s Prospect Studios set in Hollywood. Her final episodes will air in June.

Mansi joined the show in 2023 after an Emmy-winning run on “Days of Our Lives,” where she played Abigail Deveraux from 2011 to 2020, taking home a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2017. She stepped into a role with deep roots — Lexi Ainsworth had played Kristina on and off since 2009 — and wasted little time establishing herself through some of the show’s most emotionally demanding material.

Her biggest storyline saw Kristina serve as both egg donor and gestational surrogate for her sister Molly Lansing and T.J. Ashford, a pregnancy that ended in tragedy after a violent confrontation with Ava Jerome. Mansi earned a 2025 Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress for that performance. Kristina also pursued a same-sex romance with musician Blaze and managed the reopened Charlie’s pub, a quieter but telling piece of character work that gave the role range beyond its dramatic peaks.

Mansi, who was diagnosed with endometriosis in 2015, also stepped behind the camera to direct a March 2026 episode specifically addressing the condition, calling it the first script she had ever read that mentioned endometriosis by name. She described the two pillars of her tenure — the LGBTQ+ storyline and the endometriosis narrative — as the aspects of the role she feels most proud of.

Executive Producer Frank Valentini offered warm parting words. “We love Kate and support her decision to leave. The door is always open, and we appreciate all that she added to the show these past three years,” he said.

As of May 2026, the show has made no announcements regarding a recast of Kristina. Whether the character exits Port Charles permanently or the role eventually finds a new actor, Mansi’s version of Kristina leaves behind three years of storylines that cut closer to real-life experience than daytime television typically allows.
